"Gammanpila's statement is untrue..."

The police have issued a statement regarding the statement made by former MP Udaya Gammanpila regarding former Intelligence Chief Suresh Salle, who was arrested on suspicion in connection with the Easter attacks and is currently being held under the custody of the Criminal Investigation Department.

It states that the police did not assault or inhumanely treat Mr. Suresh Salle as stated in the former MP's statement.
