Lawyer Hijaz Hijubullah sends X message to Sale

Lawyer Hijaz Hijubullah, who was recently arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act and imprisoned for nearly 22 months, has issued a message to retired Major General Suresh Sale, who is currently in custody.

Posting on his X account, Hijaz Hijubullah has asked Suresh Sale to fight the case strongly.

The X message reads as follows.

 "If he is innocent, Saleh should stand strong and fight for his case. That is what we did. We prayed. We exercised. We met our lawyers. Saleh, who detained us, knows very well that our situation is worse than his current situation."

Attorney Hijaz Hijubullah was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department on or around April 14, 2020, on charges of involvement in the Easter attacks.

The then head of the State Intelligence Service was retired Major General Suresh Saleh. Attorney Hijaz Hijubullah was reportedly arrested based on information received from the State Intelligence Service. He was then detained for 22 months without any judicial proceedings and was later released on a court order.
