Vijaya Newspaper Company has not paid its employees' salaries

Wijeya Newspapers Ltd. is currently publishing major national newspapers, including journalists, which are not being paid their salaries properly. 

It is reported that employees recruited on contract and freelance basis have not been paid their salaries for two to three months. 

The Sinhala newspapers published by Wijeya Newspapers Ltd. are:

'Lankadeepa' (daily), 'Irida Lankadeepa' (Sunday), and 'Ada' (daily). 

The English-language newspapers are: Daily Mirror (daily), The Sunday Times (Sunday) and Daily FT (Daily Financial Times). 

The Tamil-language newspaper is:

Tamil Mirror (daily). 

In addition, Wijeya Newspapers Ltd.  It also publishes magazines and special publications such as 'Sirikatha', 'Thuranaya', 'Bilindu' and 'Vijay'.

Reliable sources state that the income generated from all these newspapers is diverted to other businesses, which is the reason for not paying salaries to employees.
